Dark Messiah of Might and Magic was released on October of 2006 by Arkane Studios. It is a first person based action game where you use melee, bows, and magic to fight enemies. This game used the Source engine, and was one of the early games to be released on Steam. Since it uses the Source engine, the game features a lot of physics-based gameplay. Your attacks can knock people down, and you have an always-ready kick button to send people into obstacles or down great falls.

The game takes place in the world of the Might and Magic series. Unfortunately, I don't know much about it. There seems to be a lot of lore that the game kind of leaves you hanging on. I could just be dense, but they seem to be namedropping a lot of deities' names without any context. Whatever, it isn't important for hitting dudes with swords.

Shogo: Mobile Armor Division is what happens when a bunch of young video game designers binge on anime in the 90's and then get really hyped up to make a game. The plot is a mishmash of everything, and non of it really makes sense. Explain everything away with "anime."

The gameplay is good at least. Too bad the game came out two months before Half Life and no one gave a shit.

I played this game a long, long time ago. I think I glitched something out that stopped me from finishing it, but that might have just been young me trying to justify me giving up, since I was even worse at FPSes than other types of games back then.

I do remember loving the weapons for sure, though.
