Default Alien Squatter: My life as a mutant hobo

Let Us Squat Together

Alien Squatter is the newest game from the fine fellow who brought you Void Pyramid. As with every game he's made, Alien Squatter is an exploration-heavy title that evokes the same feel as the gamebooks of yore.

You start as one of three characters -- Crawler, Biobot, or Oracle -- and with no possessions and nothing going for you, you're tasked with escaping life in the slums.

Fortunately, this is easier than it would be in real life and considerably more enjoyable. I'm going to showcase two of the playable characters, starting with the Biobot.

Episode 1: Edible Underwear

If you decide to roll up a Biobot, you should take Strength as your primary stat. I say this with the benefit of hindsight; while our sociable-but-stupid Biobot isn't the worst build for the character, we're not playing to the character's strengths.

Episode 2: Chimpchilla

Episode 3: Gone Fishing

Our Biobot becomes concerned with his karma and becomes less stupid in the hopes of someday catching a fish.

This is a cool game!

There's very little information on the internet right now about this game, so here's some absolutely spoiler-filled information on getting (most of) the achievements:

People

Aquil: found in the highway (the far right area; specifically the northern portion accessible through the downtown). He is hidden in the bottom right corner. A message will occasionally pop up directing you to him if you have not found him. To 100% him, simply visit him up to once per day and pass Social checks.

Buster: Found in the Railyard (the far left area). He is stuck behind a bunch of toxic waste, so you will build sickness visiting him. To 100% him, bring Medicine up to once per day to him.

Chia: One of the trio immediately up and right from your tent. To 100% her, visit her up to once per day and share half your collected calories. She gains bigger Friendship gains the more calories you bring her.

Chippy: Located in the Club. To 100% her, you can visit her once per day and get a Drink. Note the Drink will give you some sickness.

Domino Jo: One of the trio immediately up and right from your tent. To 100% him, simply gamble with him. He gains Friendship from winning (even if you don't purposefully let him win) and loses Friendship if he loses the gamble. You can gamble once per day with him. His Friendship gains/loses are proportional to the amount of money he wins/loses. Once you 100% him, he will no longer gamble with you.

Iceberg: the blinged out Spam dealer at the Highway. To 100% her, simply bring her jewelry you either find, or purchase from inside the club. You can give her multiple jewelry per day.

Ikue: She hangs out at the Wharf to the south fishing. To 100% her, catch new fish from any of the available locations and then visit her up to once per day. Her Friendship gains are proportional to the amount of new fish you've caught.

Jorgie: Lazing around on the bench at the eastern end of the Wharf. To 100% him, visit him up to once per day and pass a Mental check. NOTE: to get the "Communion" achievement, you must visit him while under the effects of a funkyfruit BEFORE 100%'ing him.

Juliet: In the park west of your tent. To 100% her, get 100% with her brother Romeo by finding him and visting him up to once per day. He will then ask you to come to Privledge with him; refuse and pass a Physical check. Then visit Juliet.

Kid Video: Eventually found in the Junk Shop. To 100% him, play the video game to the right of the shopkeeper up to once per day. Keep passing the Mental checks and eventually Kid Video will appear.

Last Man: a hidden character. To find him, you must find three successive graffiti tags. They each appear a few days after finding the previous one. The locations are (in order) along the north wall of the Wharf, near Buster through the toxic waste in the Railyard, and north of the dumpster to the left of the Curry Shop in the Highway. Pass a Mental check for each to trigger the next to appear a few days later. Once you decipher the third, Last Man will appear in the northeast corner of the downtown. To 100% him: give him $300, 25 times ($7500 total). You can give him funds multiple times per day.

Milos: Found near the "Begging" job station in the Downtown. To 100% him, visit him and give him 5 credits up to once per day. He will move to the Club. Once her reached 100%, visit him in the club.

Old Tandy: One of the trio north and east of your tent. To 100% him, simply visit him once per day.

Omni: Found in the Junk Shop. to 100% her, bring her 25 parts. Note: there appear to be only 25 parts in the game, and their appearance slows down the more you collect, so go out of your way to get them if looking to befriend her.

Petra: Found next to the church in the Railyard area. To 100% her, visit her up to once per day and pray.

Presidenta: found next to the garden on the east side of the Park. To 100% her, being her roses. You can deliver multiple roses per day. Note: if you enter her garden by force successfully you will drive her off and not be able to 100% her.

Ragtime: From cooking sausages on the Highway. To 100% him, fix his bike using a successful mental check up to once per day. His bike is the one on top immediately to the left. Note: once you become friends with him you can take his sausage every few days.

Teegee Friday: Hiding in the tent northwest of yours. To 100% her, bring her a Spam up to once per day.

Tuna: The fishmonger near the Wharf. To 100% him, purchase fish from him. You can purchase multiple fish per day, noting that they build sickness (Medicine can counteract). Note: once you 100% him, he will no longer sell fish.

Uprock: the breakdancer in the southeast corner of the Downtown. To 100% him, visit him up to once per day and pass a Physical check.

Fishing and Holovids

Fishing: There are six fishing locations:
  • The Park Pond in the northwest of the Park;
  • The Wharf Sewer on the east side of the Park, moving towards the Wharf (south of Presidentia);
  • Next to Ikue on the south end of the Wharf;
  • The Highway Drain, located on the southern part of the Highway east of the Wharf (just east of Jorgie);
  • The Railyard Ocean southeast of the Church in the Railyard; and,
  • The Warehouse, located in the Wharf. You need to make three successive Physical checks to access.
Each fishing location has five unique fish that can only be caught in the respective locations. Your "Catalog" will keep track of what you have caught. Catching them is merely a matter of persistence and passing Mental checks.

The Legendary Moray Dick can be found after becoming 100% friends with Ikue; a new fishing location will appear on the barge in the Wharf area. Access it either by sneaking aboard with a Physical check, or paying the barge operator. You have a low% chance (10%?) to trigger a bite from Moray. If successful, you then need to succeed on a Physical check.

Holovids:
Holovids appear to serve no purpose except as a collectible. There are thirty, with six found in five areas (The Park, Wharf, Highway, Railyard and Downtown). Each one you collect appears to make the remainder in the area more difficult to find.

Your Catalog will let you know how many from each area you have collected/need to find.

Achievements (incomplete)
The Catalog lists all achievements in the game, with a hint on how to get them. Not all are listed here, as many are self-explanatory.

Blinging Bird: Find a platinum pigeon feather. I found one on the roof of the Junk Shop (accessed through the Club or from the Railyard). Appears rarely.

Communion: Eat one of Presidenta's funkyfruits then speak to Jorgie. Note: you cannot get this achievement if you have already reached 100% with Jorgie.

Gangster Sports: Enter the hideout from the Wharf and make three successive Physical checks. Then look at the dartboard and pass a Mental check.

Loose Slots: Randomly win the jackpot on the slot machine in the Club. Note: you can get this achievement through hacking the slot machine once per day with a Mental check.

Lose Your Home: This one is surprisingly difficult to get. First, you need to be (I assume) sometime after Day 100. You will randomly get a stat check in the morning to fend off bulldozers. It uses your *highest* stat, so you'll want them all as low as possible (i.e. sell your organs to the doctor) so you increase your odds of failing your check. Then you need to have less than $1000 on hand. Do this, and the ending is yours.

Low Rider: Repair the submarine (just south of the entrance to the Hideout in the Wharf area). Requires a successive Physical then Mental check.

Mixtape: Find the hidden Bag of Dragonite in the top right corner of the Railyard. Note: you need to traverse toxic waste.

Secret Beverage: look behind the building to the immediate southeast of the Wharf Sewer.

Sock Exchange: steal a sock from the clothesline north and east of your tent, then bring it to Milos (at the north end of the Downtown).

Secret Spot: Successfully fish in the hole on top of the one of the clinic cars. You can reach it by going up the ladder to the graveyard near the north end.

Sumo Fan: Bring a piece of jewelry to Maxi in the Club. Accept a drink from him, then trade him the jewelry.

_____ Curry: Sell each pet to the Curry Shop in the Highway. Note you can sell each on the same playthrough, but you can only have/find one pet at a time. To find each:
  • Rosie the Cat: carry a rose in your inventory and she will show up eventually.
  • Mittens the Chimpchilla: will randomly attack you. Pass a Physical check then take as a pet.
  • Curry the Pig: You can randomly find this pet when you purchase Curry from the Highway shop.
  • Picasso the Parrot and Robokoi the Robot: Each are randomly sold in the Junk Shop.

Achievements I have not yet found yet (please let me know if you got them!):

Miscellaneous:
Morbid Byproduct

Ending:
Free Bird
Party On
Road Trip

You have squatted a lot more aliens than I have!

I can ask the creator how to get your missing achievements if you like. Also, you're missing at least one person on your list: it's the ending our Biobot is going to get.

Episode 3': Medicine

Medicine is the best laughter. Our Crawler uses it to find love in the unlikeliest of places, and thus we bid a final farewell to the slum life. Big thanks to everyone who watched any of these videos! If this game looks at all interesting, make sure you check it out on Steam.

I'm holding out in case it sees a mobile port like Ramble Planet and Void Pyramid before it. Not that I have much choice since I don't have a computer, but this is a game I'd definitely be more interested in having on a handheld.

Odds are good it'll hit Android, yes. I'm not sure why it hasn't landed there yet.
